The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Bucharest CCI) is a self-sufficient, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, public-service organisation without a patrimonial purpose, a legal person in its own right whose aim is to represent, defend and promote the interests of its members and the other economic actors of Bucharest, for the development of trade, industry, agriculture and services in line with the market economy requirements. The Bucharest CCI members operate within five sections, i.e.: Services, Industry, Trade, Tourism, and Collective Members.

 

The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the rightful successor of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce, undissolved throughout its history, irrespective of its form of organisation and operation or the name it has had since its set-up in 1868.

 

As authorised representative of the Bucharest business, the Bucharest CCI assists the local public administration authorities in the social and economic development of the Capital, including by taking part in activities developed in public-private partnership. Likewise, for the proper development of trade, industry, services and tourism at macroeconomic level, the Bucharest CCI takes active part in the promotion of bills benefiting companies in the field. Another standing interest of the Bucharest CCI is to provide a stable, consistent and transparent business environment.

 

Furthermore, the EU rules and practices are promoted among the economic players of Bucharest through the seminars, conferences and symposia organised by the Bucharest CCI. Also, the Bucharest CCI develops sustained activities to facilitate Bucharest-located companies’ access to European funds, both by turning the expertise gained in promoting projects financed from European funds to good account, and by training specialists capable to develop quality projects financed from Community funds.

 

The Bucharest CCI promotes the products and services supply of Bucharest-located companies during the economic missions and business fora organised, in Romania and abroad, together with chambers of commerce abroad, based on the existing protocols and cooperation agreements.
